The University Pedagogy Programme is a comprehensive, research-based pedagogical competence development course for early career academics. The course spans one year and provides course participants with the pedagogical and didactic foundation for a permanent career at Aalborg University or another higher education institution.
Completion of the programme or an equivalent course is a requirement for working as an associate professor at Aalborg University.
Programme format and assessment
The University Pedagogy Programme consists of a number of compulsory activities, including a two-day residential course, peer group meetings and peer teaching observation, English language certification, participation in the AAU Learning Day and two seminars.
The programme is assessed through a project report documenting the PBL process and a group portfolio documenting the working and learning process of the peer group.
An essential aspect of the practical work is that each peer group will be assigned to a pedagogical supervisor and each participant will be assigned to a departmental supervisor. The supervisors will provide feedback on project proposals and observe teaching activities. Participants will also observe teaching conducted by peers to reflect on their own practice.
