Social and Human science Approaches to Research in Education and Problem-Based Learning

SHARE-PBL's work ranges from knowledge within global, international and national educational policy and educational practice to knowledge about the formation and learning processes of groups and individuals.

SHARE-PBL currently conducts research within different learning contexts (institutional, workplace-based, informal, higher education and primary school), and also works to analyse/evaluate policy, curricula, teaching and learning practices.

Expertise in learning and change processes

Knowledge and skills to analyze and design learning processes within project work and PBL at all levels – the individual, the group, the organizational, the societal. We can contribute to understanding what learning and change are, how it happens and how to create conditions and processes for learning.

Expertise in education and training

Knowledge and skills to analyze and create new knowledge about education and training with particular emphasis on the Aalborg model, PBL, project work and the importance, history and future of other models as well as philosophical and scientific theoretical underpinnings. These perspectives contribute with insight into the importance and implications of education for ethical-political, professional and societal issues.

Expertise in Pedagogy and Didactics

Knowledge and skills to develop well-functioning pedagogical practices and PBL variations, with a focus on e.g. the digital, the professional and the societal. We contribute to creating a better understanding of effective and significant conditions for pedagogical practice within PBL, project work and other forms of reflective teaching. In this way, we contribute to the development of teaching and guidance and thus a continued qualification of the Aalborg model.
