Join Sustainable Development Lab as an organization
Both public and private organizations are invited to affiliate with the Sustainable Development Lab in order to propose relevant and challenging project missions for the students. The Lab provides a structured organization to venture into complex and holistic sustainability challenges. The only requirement from you as collaborative organization is supportive time and access to necessary data.
Why and how to join as an organization?
Join the Sustainable Development Lab as a collaborative organization and be part of the joined venture to address complex and holistic sustainability challenges. The collaborative organizations in the Lab benefit from exposure and engagement of students with a wide interdisciplinary variation of knowledge and competences. It represents an opportunity to form part of the learning experience of developing dynamic and systemic solutions to difficult and enduring sustainability challenges.
As collaborative organization, you will be able to propose a sustainability challenge to our interdisciplinary teams of students and you will get access to their data collection and final reporting, as well as learning from their approaches. You have to fill out our form for organizations, where you state the drive behind your sustainability challenge and provide information about the character of the challenge and how your organization can support the project venture. Your answers will be collected and inserted in an organizational profile card that will be presented for the students during the group formation process, where they will pick the project missions that they will work on. We will enroll organizations continuously, but if you want to be sure to be part of the Lab for the coming semester, we need to have your reponses through the form before the 1st of May. You will find the form here below.
Our expectations on your part is that you formulate a challenging and relevant mission for the students enrolled in the Lab to engage in. Please note that the sustainability challenge should have a holistic and systemic character, as the projects should stage an appropriate learning challenge that necessitate an interdisicplinary and systemic approach. You should also be sure that your organization can accommodate the necessary ressources in terms of supportive time and access to relevant data to our student teams, if your project is chosen. This typically entails a number of meeting with the students to explain the character of the challenge and why the organization wishes to address it as well as help to access key employees in the organization or in collaborative organizations. The students also needs access to certain data within the organization if necessary.
If it should be necessary, the work of the students within the Lab can be held confidential and non-disclosure agreements can be signed on the basis of the AAU standard contract.
